Replaced the old dome light in our hallway — the slim fixture made the ceiling feel much cleaner
Our hallway had one of those older dome-style ceiling lights that hung down farther than it needed to.
The ceiling isn’t particularly high, so I wanted something that would sit closer to it without making the hallway feel dark.
I went with the 12-inch square version in white. The biggest difference honestly isn’t the brightness — it’s just how much cleaner the ceiling looks now.
I chose 3000K because the rest of the house is warm white and I didn’t want the hallway looking noticeably cooler than the rooms beside it.
Installation was pretty straightforward once the old fixture was down.
Thanks for sharing the update.
The current 12-inch square Slim LED Ceiling Light uses a 24W flush-mount design, comes in White or Black, and offers 3000K / 4500K / 5000K / 6500K options. It is intended for spaces such as bedrooms, kitchens, hallways, closets and apartments where a low-profile fixture is preferred.
7, 9, 12, 15.7 or 24 inch — which slim ceiling light size should you choose?
Slim ceiling lights in this collection come in several diameters and wattages, and choosing the largest fixture is not always necessary.
A smaller bedroom, hallway or closet needs a different fixture scale from a large living room or open space.
A simple way to compare the current range is:
7 Inch — 12W
Compact option for smaller rooms, hallways, closets and utility areas.
9 Inch — 18W
A step up for bedrooms, kitchens and everyday residential lighting.
12 Inch — 24W
One of the most versatile sizes for bedrooms, kitchens, hallways and apartments.
15.7 Inch — 32W
Designed for larger residential spaces where a physically larger fixture fits the room better.
24 Inch — 45W
The largest current model and specifically positioned for larger living rooms, dining rooms, open spaces and large bedrooms.
Also check voltage before ordering: the collection contains separate 110–130V and 220–240V versions for different markets.
Standard white ceiling light or Smart RGBCW for a bedroom?
I’m replacing the ceiling light in a bedroom and I’m deciding between the normal 12-inch model and the smart RGB version.
Most of the time I’d just use normal white light, but being able to dim it or use a softer color at night sounds useful.
Is the smart version mainly for kids rooms and gaming spaces, or does it still work well as a normal bedroom light?
The Smart RGBCW model can still be used as normal white room lighting.
The current 12-inch 24W Smart version supports 2700K–6500K adjustable white light, dimmable brightness and RGB color effects. It also supports Tuya APP control, Alexa / Google Home voice control, timers, memory functions and music-sync modes.
If you only want one fixed white color temperature and a simple wall-switch setup, one of the standard Slim Ceiling Lights is the more straightforward option. Most standard models are listed as non-dimmable and operate with basic ON/OFF control.
